Lesson CIERSV4
Cisco 360 Learning Program for CCIE R&S - Lesson V4.0 Upgrade
The centerpiece of this Lesson Module are three video on demand (VoD) instruction sessions on three new and very important topics introduced in the new Routing and Switching v4.0 Lab format:
- IPv6 multicasting
- Zone Based Firewalls
- Optimized Edge Routing/Performance Based Routing
The split-screen format of each VoD module provides the powerful learning experience of shadowing a Cisco CCIE® who is configuring and explaining these technologies. This Lesson Module is also supplemented with a Spot the Issues quiz for each of these three technologies.
Duration
Two Hours and Forty-Five Minutes.
Each VoD averages 15 minutes in length, and the approximately two hours and forty-five minutes of VoD modules are grouped into three blocks:
- an IPv6 Multicasting Block
- a Zone Based Firewall Block
- an Optimized Edge (OER) Routing/Performance Based Routing (PfR) Block
Target Audience
The Routing and Switching v4.0 Upgrade lesson is for professional-level networking engineers who have 3–5 years of network engineering experience or who have completed the Cisco CCNP® certification. This self-paced Lesson Module is for engineers who need to master CCIE-level problems that involve:
- Formulating a basic understanding of the operation of IPv6 Multicasting
- Formulating a basic understanding of the operation of Zone Based Firewalls
- Formulating a basic understanding of the operation of Optimized Edge Routing/Performance Based Routing
Recommended Prerequisites and Corequisites
A CCNP level of understanding of network troubleshooting are required. It is also recommended that this lesson be completed with these lessons:
- CCIE R&S Lesson: Interior Gateway Routing Protocols (IGP’s)
- CCIE R&S Lesson: BGP Routing Protocols
- CCIE R&S Lesson: Troubleshooting Routing and Switching Technologies
Lesson Module Objectives
Upon completion of this self-paced Lesson Module, learners should be able to formulate well–defined mental simulations to perform the following tasks with the minimally described parameters that are commonly found in CCIE–level tasks.
- Attain a basic understanding of IPv6 Multicasting, Zone Based Firewalls and Optimized Edge Routing/Performance Based Routing
- Formulate an opening moves strategy to configure IPv6 Multicasting, Zone Based Firewalls and Optimized Edge Routing/Performance Based Routing
- Formulate an opening moves strategy to troubleshoot IPv6 Multicasting, Zone Based Firewalls and Optimized Edge Routing/Performance Based Routing
